About listing on the Iraq Stock Exchange

A listed company is a joint-stock company whose shares the Iraq Securities Commission has approved for trading on the exchange. Capital is paid-in capital in dinars; since the par value is one dinar, it is also the number of shares issued.

The exchange has three tiers: the regular market for companies meeting disclosure requirements, the second market for smaller or newer companies, and the unlisted market. Banks are the largest sector by count, followed by industry, hotels and tourism, insurance, agriculture, services, telecom and investment.

Trading status is read from the last session: an active company traded in it; a company not traded recently keeps its last price; a suspended one has not traded for more than sixty days — usually by Commission decision over late disclosure or other grounds.
