Iraqi banks
Every bank in the Central Bank of Iraq's directory: its type, ownership and directory status, whether it is listed on the exchange, and what it actually publishes about its deposits, loans and services. Figures come from the banks' own sources and from exchange filings, with the date they were checked.
79
banks in the CBI directory · 43 of them listed on the exchange

35 banks restricted from dollars
A dollar account at a restricted bank does not mean every transfer is possible.
+
US-dollar restrictions come from the published lists; a dollar account at a restricted bank does not mean every transfer is possible.
14 under guardianship or liquidation
The status as the Central Bank directory records it, not our own check.
+
The list is the Central Bank of Iraq's directory, all 79 entries — not the number of banks actually operating: some are under guardianship or liquidation or have not started business, and the status shown is the directory's, not our verification. «Operating» means the directory records no annotation against the bank.
Only 22 publish their product terms
The rest publish no rates on their sites, or their sites could not be opened from outside Iraq.
+
The «publishes» column describes what a bank has made public on its site, not its quality: a bank that publishes no terms is not thereby a worse bank, and a bank whose site cannot be opened from outside Iraq is said to be unreachable rather than counted as silent.

An indicator built from statements filed with the Securities Commission. Not a credit rating and not advice.
How the score is calculated
Five areas from the published statements: capital (equity and capital adequacy) 25%, profitability (return on assets and equity, loss years) 25%, liquidity (cash against deposits, liquidity ratios) 20%, efficiency (costs as a share of operating income) 15%, and activity (financing granted, deposit growth) 15%.
Each figure is scored on fixed thresholds and on the bank's rank among listed banks, half and half. Out of 100: excellent 78+, very good 70, good 55, fair 45, weak below that.
No score when a bank's latest statements are older than 18 months or three areas are missing. Implausible figures are dropped rather than scored. Unlisted private banks that file with the Securities Commission (Warka, Hammurabi, Al-Sanam) are scored on those filings. State banks (no published statements), foreign branches, and banks under guardianship, in liquidation or suspended from trading have no score.

Assets come from the latest financial filing of banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange — the same rows the company's financial-statements page shows. Ratings are editorial, from published sources, and do not measure a bank's safety.
